Success in Other Cities

Who says you can't go home again? The housing first/housing plus model has literally saved hundreds of lives in communities across the country, along with hundreds of thousands of dollars.

The proven plan

Permanent housing in other U.S. cities - including Los Angeles, Denver, and Portland - reduced the homeless population and saved money and resources. In L.A., housing 43 people saved $492,000 in hospital costs. Denver's Housing First Program netted a savings of $4,745 per person per year. Supportive housing in Portland resulted in healthcare savings of 59%, mental healthcare savings of 41%, emergency room care savings of 62%, and ambulance and police service savings of 66%.
